Profile of Havant
The Borough of Havant occupies just over 21 square miles of land in the south east corner of Hampshire, comprising 54% urban land and 46% open land. There are currently 120,335 people living in the Borough, in approximately 50,000 dwellings. The majority of the housing in the Borough is owner occupied (72%), with a further 12% being owned by neighbouring Portsmouth City Council, and 8% owned by housing associations.
The housing stock in Havant Borough is notably more modern than the national average with an unusually high 47% in the post-1964 age band and with 87% of stock built after 1945.
